Zlatan Ibile Slams Nigerians for ‘Embarrassing’ Behaviour Around Celebrities

Afrobeats singer Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has criticised what he described as embarrassing behaviour by some Nigerians when they encounter celebrities.
The ‘Zanku’ hitmaker expressed his frustration in a post on X, where he questioned the way some fans conduct themselves around famous personalities.
Zlatan suggested that having a celebrity within their families might help some people better understand the realities of fame and how celebrities should be treated.
“The way some of y’all look stupid in front of celebrities. I always wish y’all had one in your family. Maybe then you’d understand. Still, I can’t blame some of y’all,” he wrote.
The singer, however, said he did not entirely blame such individuals for their behaviour.
He further stressed that people should not become consumed by the pursuit of fame or online attention.
“There’s more to life than being famous and making a nuisance of yourself online,” Zlatan added.
The comments come as the singer continues to speak on aspects of celebrity and influencer culture, particularly the way fame shapes interactions between public figures and their fans.
