Zamfara Government Resumes Payment of Corps Members’ Allowances

The Zamfara State Government has resumed the payment of state allowances to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), following several months of suspension.

Governor Dauda Lawal made the announcement on Friday in Gusau during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B, Stream 1 corps members deployed to the state. Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Nasiru Galadima, the governor also revealed that special allowances have now been approved and disbursed to corps members serving in the medical field.

Governor Lawal described the move as part of his administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of corps members and creating a more conducive environment for national service.

“I urge you to embrace your service year with dedication, passion, and integrity. Make a positive impact in your host communities,” he said.

He reassured the corps members of their safety and well-being, adding, “The security and welfare of every corps member in Zamfara remain a top priority for this administration.”

The governor further pledged continued support for the NYSC management and staff, promising an enabling environment to ensure effective performance throughout the service year.
