The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has congratulated His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his election as the Executive Governor of Edo State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jonathan Eze, the Minister described the judgment as a “resounding affirmation of democratic integrity and the enduring will of the people.”
Sulaiman-Ibrahim commended Governor Okpebholo for his calm, focused, and statesmanlike disposition throughout the legal process, noting that the ruling provides a renewed opportunity to unite and advance the development of Edo State.
She emphasized that Governor Okpebholo’s emergence comes at a pivotal time in the nation’s history, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda drives a bold shift toward inclusive governance, economic transformation, and people-centred service delivery.
Expressing confidence in the governor’s leadership, the Minister said his administration holds great promise for empowering women, protecting children, and promoting sustainable development that benefits every resident of the state.
“This victory is not merely political; it symbolizes a renewed mandate to deliver meaningful impact,” she stated.
“Edo State now stands on the cusp of accelerated progress, and we look forward to working closely with the administration to ensure that women, children, and families remain central to this transformation.”
The Minister concluded by wishing Governor Okpebholo wisdom, strength, and success as he steers Edo State into a new era of peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth.
