Veteran Actor Tito Harrison Opens Up About Nearly a Decade of Battling Life-Threatening Illness

Veteran Nollywood actor Tito Harrison has shared the harrowing story of his nearly ten-year battle with a life-threatening liver disease, revealing how the illness devastated his family both emotionally and financially.

Speaking candidly on the Talk to B podcast, the Yoruba film star recalled how his health began to decline after he developed persistent nausea and lost his appetite—symptoms that eventually led to a grave diagnosis.

“Life was going well until God said, ‘I want to test you like I tested Job.’ I began feeling nauseous, and I couldn’t eat. When I got to the hospital, they told me I had liver problems,” Harrison said. “I don’t remember the exact year, but my son is 16 now—he was about four then. Things got so bad that I slipped into a coma for three days.”

In addition to his liver disease, Harrison was also dealing with a chronic, life-threatening ulcer. The medical costs became so overwhelming that he was forced to sell his land and a nearly completed house to stay alive. As his condition worsened, he had to send his children to live with their biological mother while he and his wife moved in with her family to seek support.

“There was a point I couldn’t eat at all, and then my ulcer flared up—so severe it could have killed me. I was battling two serious illnesses at once,” he recalled.

Despite facing abandonment from friends and colleagues, Harrison expressed deep gratitude for his wife, who never left his side throughout the ordeal.

“The only luck I had was my wife. It’s a blessing to have a good woman. If I come back to life again, I will marry her all over. Everyone else left, but she stayed,” he said.
