BBNaija Star Tacha Eyes Politics, Says Change Starts with Participation

Reality TV personality Tacha reveals plans to enter politics, citing wasted potential in Rivers State and the need for youth involvement.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality Anita Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has revealed her desire to join Nigerian politics, expressing frustration over the underdevelopment of her home state, Rivers.

In a candid interview with media host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the reality TV star said she’s been deeply disappointed by the government’s failure to tap into the immense potential of Rivers State.

“When I look at places like Abuja and Lagos and see their progress, it’s frustrating,” she said. “Rivers State has so many talented youths and untapped opportunities, but the government just isn’t doing enough.”

Tacha emphasized the need for youth involvement in governance, stressing that change can’t happen by merely criticizing from the sidelines.

“It’s more effective to be inside the system,” she noted. “You can’t keep granting interviews and calling out the government without being part of the solution.”

While she remained tight-lipped about the exact role she plans to play in politics, Tacha hinted at an ongoing project she intends to unveil once it’s 70% completed.

“It’s something I’m working on. Once it’s 70% ready, I’ll talk about it,” she said.

In addition to her political aspirations, the outspoken entrepreneur also revealed plans to break the Guinness World Record for the most makeup applications in 24 hours, setting her sights on 150 people.

Tacha, who rose to fame during the 2019 edition of BBNaija, has continued to maintain a strong following, using her platform to speak on social and political issues.

Her declaration adds to the growing list of Nigerian celebrities leveraging their influence to explore political spaces and advocate for change.
