VeryDarkMan Slams Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid Over Lavish Car Purchases Amid Economic Crisis [VIDEO]

Controversial social media commentator VeryDarkMan has publicly criticized Nigerian music superstars Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid for flaunting ultra-luxury cars while millions of Nigerians face worsening economic conditions.

His remarks came shortly after Burna Boy reportedly purchased a brand-new McLaren Sienna worth ₦3.5 billion—making him the first African to acquire the high-end vehicle. Not long after, Davido was said to have acquired a 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 for ₦1.2 billion, while Wizkid had previously bought a ₦1.7 billion luxury car.

In a viral Instagram video, VeryDarkMan condemned the trio for what he described as a lack of sensitivity to the current struggles of everyday Nigerians, especially their fans and communities.

“Yesterday, I saw that Burna Boy bought a ₦3.5 billion car. The same day, Davido bought a car worth over ₦1 billion. And this isn’t new—they’ve been doing this for a while,” he said.

Directing his strongest criticism toward Davido, whom he described as a personal acquaintance, VeryDarkMan questioned the singer’s tangible impact on his hometown of Osun State.

“Davido, you’re my guy, but what can you honestly beat your chest and say you’ve done for the people of Osun State?” he asked. “You’ve gained so much from Nigeria and your fans—but what have they gained from you in return?”

He further recalled Davido’s visible presence in Osun only during the gubernatorial campaign of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“The last time I saw you in Osun was when your uncle was running for office. Since then, what infrastructure or opportunity have you created that’s benefitted the youths there?”

VeryDarkMan concluded by saying that while these artists aren’t obligated to take the place of government, their influence and resources should be used more meaningfully, especially in times of national hardship.
