Traffic Disrupted After Three-Vehicle Crash at Gbagada Ramp Bridge

Traffic was disrupted along the Gbagada Expressway in Lagos on Thursday following a three-vehicle crash involving a car and two trucks at the Gbagada Ramp Bridge, connecting to Ifako.

The accident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, obstructed the access road and triggered a traffic backlog in the area, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

LASTMA officials moved swiftly to secure the scene and manage the resulting congestion while arrangements were made to remove the vehicles from the roadway.

Safety cones were deployed around the affected section to alert approaching motorists and minimise the risk of a secondary collision as rescue and evacuation operations continued.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded in the incident.

The traffic management agency later confirmed that all three vehicles had been removed from the location, allowing normal traffic flow to resume along the affected route.

The incident highlights how quickly road crashes can disrupt movement on major Lagos traffic corridors, particularly during peak commuting periods.

Motorists approaching the Gbagada-Ifako axis are advised to exercise caution, maintain safe distances and remain alert around the affected corridor.
