A pro-President Bola Tinubu support group, BAT-KOHrrect, has announced plans to distribute food items and essential relief materials to 1,000 vulnerable families as part of efforts to support the Federal Government’s poverty alleviation drive.
The group made the announcement to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on October 17, while urging Nigerians to remain patient with the administration’s economic reforms.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Victor Ganzallo, and made available to newsmen, BAT-KOHrrect said the humanitarian outreach would target vulnerable households in selected communities.
The group described the initiative as a demonstration of collective responsibility in addressing poverty and supporting national development.
“We use this occasion to unequivocally commend His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for his courageous, reform-driven, and people-centred efforts to make life better for ordinary Nigerians,” the statement said.
BAT-KOHrrect praised the President’s economic policies, arguing that the administration had taken difficult but necessary decisions to lay the foundation for long-term prosperity despite the economic challenges it inherited.
The group highlighted several government initiatives it said were aimed at reducing poverty and improving citizens’ welfare. These include the expansion of social investment programmes and conditional cash transfers, the presidential palliative programme, wage awards, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, agricultural investments and support for small businesses.
According to the group, these interventions demonstrate the administration’s commitment to translating its Renewed Hope Agenda into practical measures to improve living standards.
“These interventions are clear evidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan, but a deliberate and practical roadmap to lift millions out of poverty and restore Nigeria’s economic dignity,” the statement added.
Announcing its planned relief distribution, BAT-KOHrrect said it was committed to complementing government efforts through direct humanitarian support for vulnerable households.
“In practical support of the Federal Government’s poverty alleviation drive, and in the spirit of this international day, BAT-KOHrrect will be carrying out a humanitarian outreach to distribute food items, staples, and essential relief materials to 1,000 vulnerable families in selected communities,” the statement said.
It added that the initiative was intended to demonstrate solidarity with the President and reinforce the importance of collective action in tackling poverty.
“This outreach is our token of solidarity with Mr President and a demonstration that nation-building is a collective task,” the group stated.
BAT-KOHrrect said the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty provided an opportunity for Nigerians to renew their commitment to building a more inclusive and prosperous society.
The group described itself as a grassroots socio-political movement and citizens’ support network established to mobilise support for President Tinubu and his administration.
Explaining its name and mission, the organisation said it sought to address what it described as misinformation and distorted narratives about the government by providing citizens with information on its policies and achievements.
“The name is our philosophy: We stand to correct the false narratives, to correct the distortions about governance, and to direct the people towards correct information about the policies and achievements of the Renewed Hope administration,” the statement said.
The group identified grassroots mobilisation and civic education, media advocacy, youth and women’s empowerment, humanitarian service, and good governance and accountability as key areas of focus.
It called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, patient and united, acknowledging that eradicating poverty would require sustained efforts and time.
