Tems Takes Charge of ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ Soundtrack, Records Three New Songs

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been appointed executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming fantasy film, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’.
The announcement was made by Wilson Morales, founder of BlackFilmandTV, during the film’s trailer launch event in New York City on Tuesday.
According to Morales, the film’s director, Gina Prince-Bythewood, confirmed that Tems will lead the creative direction of the movie’s soundtrack and has contributed three original songs to the project.
“At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive-produce and curate the soundtrack for the film. She also contributed three songs,” Morales stated.
He also revealed that Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy will join the project as an executive music consultant.

The announcement came shortly after Paramount released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film, which features Nigerian singer Ayra Starr making her acting debut.
Ayra Starr is set to play an undisclosed role in the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, while Tems’ 2023 hit song ‘Me & U’ was featured in the teaser.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ features a star-studded cast including Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr, and Damson Idris.
The fantasy film is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 15, 2027.
