Nollywood actress and producer Bimbo Ademoye has expressed disbelief following the sudden voluntary departure of Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Chinaecherem Maduagwu, popularly known as Neche.
Neche, 25, left the reality show shortly after Sunday’s live eviction programme, taking both her fellow housemates and viewers by surprise.
The housemate did not publicly disclose the reason for her decision at the time of her departure.
However, BBNaija organisers later confirmed that Neche chose to leave the competition because of pressing personal matters that required her immediate attention.
Reacting to the development on Instagram, Ademoye said she was still trying to process the news and questioned whether the announcement could be part of a prank.
“I am still in shock. What just happened? Neche took a voluntary exit? Somebody tell me this is a prank,” she wrote.
Housemates question sudden departure
Neche’s exit also generated uncertainty inside the BBNaija house, with some contestants reportedly wondering whether her departure was part of a surprise twist.
Their doubts were partly fuelled by the show’s history of using fake evictions and unexpected twists to keep contestants and viewers guessing.
Despite the speculation, the organisers subsequently confirmed that Neche had indeed voluntarily withdrawn from the competition.
Her departure adds another unexpected development to the “Show Ya Sef” season, which began with 24 housemates competing for the grand prize.
Neche had also made an impression during her time in the house, including winning the third Arena game of the season before her unexpected exit.
