La Liga president Javier Tebas has called for Manchester City to receive the “most severe sanction” available if the club is found to have breached financial regulations.
Reports on Friday claimed an independent panel had ruled against City on 114 of 115 charges relating to alleged breaches of Premier League rules.
However, the Premier League has yet to formally announce the outcome, with no details released on any possible punishment.
City, backed by Abu Dhabi, have consistently rejected the allegations, while chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said on Saturday that he remained confident the club would be cleared.
Possible penalties reportedly include a significant points deduction or expulsion from the Premier League, while some clubs are said to be seeking legal advice over potential compensation claims.
In a lengthy social media post on Sunday, Tebas stressed the importance of “equal rules for all” to preserve the integrity and long-term sustainability of football.
Speaking at a football performance and health summit in London on Tuesday, the La Liga chief said he had raised concerns about City since 2017.
