Nigeria’s Super Falcons have maintained their 26th position in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings released on Monday.
Despite retaining their global ranking, Eric Chelle’s team dropped to fourth place among African nations.
The Super Falcons’ most recent outing was a June international friendly against Portugal, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat to the former European champions.
Egypt climbed to third in Africa after an impressive FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, which ended with a 3-2 Round of 16 defeat to Argentina.
Morocco remain Africa’s top-ranked side after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals, rising from seventh to sixth position globally, while Senegal’s Terangha Lions dropped three places but stayed second on the continent.
Algeria slipped one spot to become Africa’s fifth-ranked team.
On the global stage, newly crowned world champions Spain reclaimed the number one spot, with Argentina moving down to second. France, England, and Brazil complete the top five.
The next FIFA World Rankings are scheduled for release on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
