Super Eagles Edge Ghana 2-1 to Reach Unity Cup Final Against Jamaica

The Super Eagles of Nigeria clinched a 2-1 victory over the Black Stars of Ghana on Wednesday night, securing a spot in the final of the Unity Cup tournament held in London.
The much-anticipated ‘Jollof derby’ lived up to expectations, with goals from Cyriel Dessers and an own goal by Ghanaian defender Razak Simpson sealing the win for Nigeria.
Dessers opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a composed finish, following a pinpoint assist from Sodiq Ismail. Just five minutes later, Nigeria’s lead was doubled when Simpson inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, putting the Super Eagles firmly in control.
Ghana, visibly struggling in the first half, failed to register a single shot on target before the break.
The Black Stars came out stronger in the second half and managed to pull a goal back in the 70th minute through substitute Brandon Asante-Thomas. Despite the late push, it wasn’t enough to deny Nigeria the win.
With the victory, Nigeria advances to face Jamaica in the Unity Cup final on Saturday. The Reggae Boyz earned their place in the final after defeating Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 in a thrilling semi-final on Tuesday.
