Edo Queens Coach Aduku Confident of Bounce Back After Opening Day Loss in Super Six

Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Remo Stars Ladies on the opening day of the Super Six tournament, Edo Queens head coach Moses Aduku remains confident that his team will bounce back and contend strongly for the title.
The loss came in dramatic fashion on Saturday in Ikenne, Ogun State, as Olasubomi Ogundele sealed victory for the Remo Stars Ladies with an 85th-minute free kick. Although Edo Queens dominated much of the game, they were unable to convert their chances.
Speaking ahead of their second match against Rivers Angels on Monday (today), Aduku expressed optimism about his team’s chances of recovery. Rivers Angels also lost their opening fixture to Bayelsa Queens, setting up a crucial clash between two sides seeking their first win of the tournament.
“We lost our first game to Remo Stars Ladies, but we were gallant in defeat. We are not out of the competition. We are still a top contender,” Aduku said.
“We have corrected our mistakes and we will be all out against Rivers Angels. In the regular season, we came here and defeated them 1-0. On Saturday, we dominated the game. However, when you make a mistake in football, you pay for it. But notwithstanding, Edo Queens will certainly bounce back to winning ways.”
The coach emphasized the need for his players to be clinical in front of goal and remain focused.
“We must take our chances and do the needful against Rivers Angels. They also lost their first game to Bayelsa Queens, so it is going to be a tough battle, but we are ready. It is not over yet until it is over,” he added.
Monday’s Super Six fixtures feature three key matches:
Edo Queens vs Rivers Angels
Remo Stars Ladies vs Naija Ratels
Bayelsa Queens vs Nasarawa Amazons
