Sudan Accuses UAE of Complicity in RSF Drone Strike That Killed Peacekeepers

Tensions over Sudan’s ongoing conflict escalated at the United Nations on Thursday, as Khartoum accused the Rapid Support Forces of a deadly drone strike and alleged foreign complicity in the attack.

Sudan has accused the Rapid Support Forces of carrying out a deadly drone strike on the Kadguli logistics base last December, describing the attack as a war crime and alleging that the United Arab Emirates was complicit through the supply of drones used in the operation.

The allegation was raised at a United Nations Security Council meeting on Thursday by Sudan’s acting permanent representative, Ammar Mohammed, during discussions on the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei, where the conflicts in Sudan and instability in South Sudan were also reviewed.

He said the December 13, 2025 attack on the base resulted in the deaths of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers, with nine others injured.

Mohammed called on the Security Council to hold the UAE accountable, urging that the findings of any investigation be made public with full transparency.

He also reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to existing agreements governing Abyei, including the 2011 arrangement on the administration and security of the disputed area, and expressed readiness to activate joint institutions such as a police force, administration, and legislative council, while urging South Sudan to comply with the agreement.

The Sudanese envoy warned against actions that could obstruct the mandate of UNISFA, which includes monitoring troop withdrawals, supporting humanitarian access, and protecting civilians in the region.
