Shaffy Bello Rejects Relocation Plans, Says Nigeria Remains Her Home

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has declared that she has no desire to relocate abroad, insisting that Nigeria remains home despite the country’s challenges.

The actress made the remarks during a panel session at 20+ Years in the Media: Real Talk with Kike @7, where she reflected on her experience living in the United States and her decision to pursue her career in Nigeria.

Bello acknowledged that America played a role in her early development but said Nigeria shaped her identity and provided opportunities that continue to inspire her.

“America trained me, but Nigeria made me,” she said.

Asked what could give young Nigerians hope amid prevailing difficulties, the actress said she remained confident in the opportunities available in the country.

She explained that having lived abroad before, she understood the appeal of relocating but would rather remain in Nigeria because of the possibilities she believes exist there.

“I pray I never get the opportunity, as they call it, to go back,” Bello said, adding that Nigeria was where she wanted to be.

The actress, however, acknowledged persistent challenges in the country, particularly in electricity supply, education and healthcare. She encouraged young people to concentrate on developing their skills and making meaningful use of their abilities.

Speaking on career longevity, Bello stressed the importance of authenticity, continuous learning and hard work.

She urged young people to identify what they could offer, invest in learning and demonstrate competence in their chosen fields.

Reflecting on her own career, she said remaining authentic had been essential to sustaining her presence in the entertainment industry.

“For me to be here for so many years, first, I must be authentic to who I am. If you lie, you keep having to remember the lies; if you tell the truth, it’s easy,” she said.

Bello also encouraged young Nigerians to maintain their faith as they pursue their ambitions.
