Qatar has strongly rejected Israeli remarks concerning the possible annexation of territories in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, describing the move as a serious challenge to international law and established international resolutions.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to take decisive action and compel Israel to abandon what Doha described as expansionist ambitions and settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The ministry said Qatar remains firmly committed to the Palestinian cause, reiterating its call for an end to the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Doha also reaffirmed its support for Lebanon, stressing the importance of preserving the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions surrounding Israel’s military operations in Gaza and southern Lebanon, with growing regional concerns over the potential territorial and legal implications of the conflict.
Qatar’s latest position adds to mounting regional calls for respect for international law, the protection of national sovereignty and renewed efforts towards a political resolution to the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
