Portable Accepts Davido’s Hit Battle, Declares: ‘I Get Hit Pass Am’

Nigerian street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has accepted Davido’s challenge for a hit-for-hit showdown, boldly claiming he has more hit songs than the Afrobeats superstar.

Portable made the claim in a recent video after Davido challenged fellow artistes to prove their catalogues against his.

Davido had earlier declared that no Nigerian artiste had more hit songs than him and offered $1 million for a hit-song battle.

Portable has now thrown his name into the conversation, insisting that his catalogue can stand against Davido’s.

In the video, the singer pointed to both his solo releases and collaborations as evidence of his musical success.

He also credited some of his collaborators for contributing to songs that became popular, mentioning Nigerian rapper Olamide and British rapper Skepta.

“I’m here to challenge Davido, say I get hit song pass am. My featuring, my single was a hit,” Portable said.

The singer went on to describe himself as an artiste with a string of successful songs, adding that he had already achieved what he wanted musically and was now focused on enjoying the financial rewards.

“Na money just remain to buy luxury cars like Lambo and the rest. Na everyday me I dey sing hit,” he added.

Portable’s declaration adds a new dimension to the hit-song debate sparked by Davido, who has built an extensive catalogue spanning more than a decade in the Nigerian and global Afrobeats scene.

The proposed showdown has already generated discussion among music fans, with attention now turning to which artistes are willing to accept Davido’s challenge and put their catalogues to the test.

For Portable, however, there appears to be little hesitation: he believes his hits are enough to take on one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful Afrobeats stars.
