Area I Command hits ₦247.5bn by October, posts 272% year-on-year surge in October collections..
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt Area I Command, has announced that it has exceeded its 2025 annual revenue target of ₦216 billion, generating ₦247.5 billion as of October 2025.
Controller of the Command, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, disclosed this during a performance briefing, describing the achievement as a reflection of the Command’s sustained efficiency, innovation, and teamwork.
“Impressive is the Command’s cumulative revenue for January to October 2025, which stands at ₦247.5 billion, compared to ₦164.1 billion within the same period in 2024,” she said. “This represents a growth of about 51 percent, clear evidence of our consistent performance.”
With a monthly revenue target of ₦18.1 billion, Atuluku said the Command surpassed its full-year goal by ₦31 billion two months ahead of schedule.
Record-Breaking October Performance
The customs boss highlighted that October 2025 alone yielded a record-breaking ₦33.75 billion, a massive increase from the ₦9.1 billion collected in October 2024.
“This is the highest monthly revenue in the history of the Command, representing an extraordinary 272 percent increase,” Atuluku stated. “It is a testament to our collective commitment and the improved efficiency of our operations.”
She attributed the success to reform-driven leadership, operational discipline, and the unwavering dedication of customs officers.
Digital Innovation Driving Results
Comptroller Atuluku revealed that technology has been central to the Command’s revenue success, particularly through the use of the Unified Customs Management System, popularly known as Bodogwu, a digital analytics and monitoring platform that tracks and optimises revenue collection.
“Through Bodogwu, we’ve been able to identify bottlenecks, enhance data accuracy, and ensure real-time revenue accountability,” she explained. “This innovation has strengthened transparency, efficiency, and overall operational excellence.”
Atuluku praised her officers and stakeholders for their collaboration and dedication, noting that the Port Harcourt Area I Command remains committed to facilitating legitimate trade, blocking revenue leakages, and contributing to national economic growth.
“This achievement is not accidental,” she added. “It reflects teamwork, innovation, and the resolve to sustain reforms that ensure Customs’ role as a key revenue generator for Nigeria.”
