Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna has revealed the strategy she used to defeat actress Nkechi Blessing in their celebrity boxing bout in Lagos.
Phyna stopped Nkechi during the first female fight at the Chaos in the Ring event held on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Speaking in an interview with comedian Egungun on Saturday, the reality star said she chose to rely on strategy after recognising that Nkechi had a size advantage.
Phyna said she avoided allowing anger to influence her approach, opting instead to study her opponent and use what she described as logic and wisdom.
The reality star also disclosed that she had only 10 days of boxing training before the fight.
According to Phyna, her coach had prepared her for conventional boxing, but she adjusted her approach after noticing that Nkechi did not begin the bout in what she considered a traditional boxing stance.
She said the observation made her believe that Nkechi intended to approach the fight differently, prompting her to change her tactics.
Phyna added that her coach repeatedly instructed her to keep moving, allowing her to study Nkechi’s movements before executing her strategy.
The reality star said she enjoyed the bout but felt it ended sooner than expected.
Asked whether she would accept a rematch, Phyna ruled out the possibility, saying she had no reason to fight Nkechi again.
The Phyna-Nkechi bout was among the headline fights at Chaos in the Ring. The event also featured a bout between comedian Carter Efe and Speed Darlington.
Following her defeat, Nkechi said she would return to acting and stressed that she was not a professional boxer.
