Reality TV star Phyna has spoken out for the first time about her ongoing dispute with social media critic VeryDarkMan, accusing him of betraying her trust during a difficult family crisis.
In a video shared online, Phyna revealed that she had privately confided in him about her sister’s critical health condition following an accident involving a Dangote truck driver. According to her, she expected confidentiality and emotional support but was left heartbroken when he disclosed sensitive details in a public video without her consent.
“I told him about my sister’s condition because I was in pain, not because I wanted it online,” Phyna said tearfully. “Now people are judging us instead of focusing on the urgent need for medical care.”
The Big Brother Naija winner explained that her sister, a young mother of two, is currently fighting for her life. She stressed that she deliberately kept the matter private to avoid public scrutiny, noting that her sister’s personal life — including her marital status — should not have been brought into the conversation.
Phyna also alleged that VeryDarkMan had previously recorded one of their private phone calls without informing her, deepening her distrust.
The actress said she has been working with individuals and organizations to secure better treatment for her sister but believes the controversy has created unnecessary distractions.
She further disclosed that representatives linked to the Dangote company had assured her of support, but she fears that her sister’s care may be stalling.
Despite the backlash, Phyna insisted her fight is not for clout but for her sister’s survival.
“This is about a young mother whose life has been cut short by tragedy. I just want Nigerians to understand the pain we’re in and support us,” she pleaded.
