Peller, Carter Efe Earn Spots on 2026 Streamer Awards International Shortlist

Nigerian content creators Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and Oderhowo Carter Efe have been nominated for Best International Streamer at the 2026 Streamer Awards.

The organisers announced the five-person shortlist on X on Friday, placing the two Nigerians alongside Indian streamer Ashswag, Polish creator Young Multi and Cuban streamer Staryuuki.

The nominations bring international attention to Nigeria’s growing livestreaming scene, where creators have attracted audiences through interactive broadcasts, collaborations and viral moments across platforms such as TikTok Live, Twitch and YouTube.

Both Peller and Carter Efe have built substantial online followings through live content and audience engagement.

Peller, who recently disclosed that he had been invited to TikTok’s office in the United Kingdom, described the nomination as a milestone and dedicated the recognition to his fans.

Voting for the Best International Streamer category is open on the awards’ official website and will close on October 31.

According to the announced voting format, the winner will be determined by a combination of public votes, which account for 70 per cent of the result, and panellists’ scores, which make up the remaining 30 per cent.

The 2026 Streamer Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on November 12, with the event set to stream live on Twitch and YouTube.
