Odumeje Alleges Fake Miracles in Churches, Names TB Joshua as Exception
Anambra-based cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has accused some Christian ministers in Nigeria of staging miracles during church services.
The controversial preacher made the allegation during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he expressed concern over what he described as the growing practice of arranging miracles in churches.
Odumeje said his concerns had influenced his decision to decline invitations to minister at other clerics’ churches.
“Arrangees [staged miracles] in churches are becoming too much in Nigeria. That is why I don’t go to other clerics’ churches as guest minister. I have turned down a lot of invitations,” he said.
The cleric maintained that the miracles reported at his church could be verified, arguing that the identities of the people involved were known and available for checks.
“The miracles we do here, we see their faces. You can take their names and verify,” he added.
Odumeje also claimed that no other Nigerian Christian cleric performs miracles comparable to his own, with the late founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua, being the only exception he identified.
He described Joshua as his “father in the Lord”.
Odumeje’s remarks were presented as his personal claims during the podcast. The allegations against other clerics were not independently substantiated in the account of the interview.
