‘Nigeria Is Africa’s Creative Empire’ — Content Creator Missdemz Praises Country’s Growing Influence

Lifestyle and entertainment creator Oluwademilade Abimbola, popularly known as Missdemz, believes Nigeria sits at the top of Africa’s creative landscape. The YouTuber and creative director described the country as “Africa’s biggest creative empire” during a recent conversation with journalists.

According to her, Nigeria’s creative energy is unmatched.
“I think Nigeria is probably the biggest creative empire in Africa,” she said. “We are constantly paving the way forward, and I feel the talents here are underdiscovered. Things will only get better.”

Missdemz added that choosing to remain in Nigeria is a deliberate move driven by faith in the industry’s future.
“I’m taking the risk of staying here now, so it’s time to reap the fruit of our labour. I want to be here when everything blossoms,” she said.

Speaking on her decision to relocate from the United Kingdom to Lagos, the content creator said her first visit completely changed her perception of the country.

She initially planned a birthday trip to Jamaica but changed course after a friend encouraged her to visit Nigeria instead.
“Honestly, I came to Nigeria for two weeks in April. I was out every single day, going from party to party, meeting people, and experiencing the nightlife,” she recounted. “I was shown the highlights of Nigeria in those two weeks, and I had to extend my stay by another week.”

The experience, she said, left a lasting impression.
“When I got back to London, I felt depressed. Nigeria had left such a good taste in my mouth,” she added.

Missdemz has since settled in Lagos, where she continues to build her brand while tapping into what she describes as an industry filled with potential and undiscovered brilliance.
