Nigeria face Mauritania or DR Congo in U-23 AFCON qualifiers

Nigeria’s U-23 Eagles will meet either Mauritania or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the second round of the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The qualifying draw was held in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday, with Nigeria among 14 nations receiving automatic passage to the second round based on their performances in the last three editions.

If they progress, the U-23 Eagles will take on the winner between Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone/Zambia for a place at the tournament.
