Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is still recovering from surgery after experiencing unexpected complications, her team has disclosed.
In a video shared on social media, the actress was seen lying on a hospital bed as her team provided an update on her health, more than three months after she underwent surgery.
According to the statement, Nwosu’s recovery has been challenging, although she remains on the path to healing. The team said the actress wanted to personally thank members of the public for their prayers, financial contributions, messages and other forms of support during her difficult period.
The statement read, “Over three months ago, so many of you showed up with love, prayers, and support when she needed it most. We are still incredibly grateful to everyone who gave, shared her story, sent a message, or kept her in their prayers.
“Since then, she has undergone one surgery, but her recovery journey has come with some unexpected complications. While she is still healing and not quite back to herself yet, she felt it was important to come before you personally, say thank you, and let you know how things have been.”
The team added that Nwosu and those supporting her were taking the recovery process one day at a time, expressing hope for complete healing and strength.
It also thanked everyone who had stood by the actress and appealed for continued prayers and support as she recuperates.
The update comes months after journalists reported that Nwosu had disclosed she was battling an undisclosed ailment and needed three surgeries estimated to cost ₦30 million.
At the time, the actress said it had been difficult to make her health condition public but explained that she could no longer remain silent as she appealed for urgent support for her treatment.
