Mbwas Mangut, the Technical Adviser for Nasarawa United, has voiced his profound frustration following his team’s narrow defeat to Kwara United in their Matchday 31 fixture. The “Solid Miners” suffered a 1-0 loss at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, during Saturday’s intense league encounter.
The decisive blow came in the final moments of the contest when Abdulsalam Abdulsalam converted a penalty for the hosts deep into injury time. While the Lafia-based side currently maintains their third-place standing on the league table, that position is now under significant threat depending on the results of the remaining weekend fixtures.
Reflecting on the tactical execution and the unfortunate conclusion to the match, Mangut emphasized that his squad had entered the fray with the firm intention of securing at least a point on the road. Following the final whistle, the tactician spoke to the club’s official media channels to express the collective disappointment of the traveling contingent as they look ahead to their upcoming home clash against Kun Khalifat FC.
“We are all pained by this result today”, Mangut told the club’s media after the game.
“We had given this game our all from the blast of the whistle, only to be letdown in the dying minutes. A draw was the worst we had envisaged, but, sometimes, you get hit by the cruel side of the round leather game.”
