Manchester City are expected to lodge an appeal against the Premier League’s verdict after being found to have breached financial regulations over a nine-year period.
The league confirmed earlier this week that an independent commission had found the club guilty of all the charges brought against it.
City were given until Friday to challenge the ruling through an appeal.
The club has consistently denied the allegations, with its legal team arguing during the 2024 hearing that the disputed funding originated from the Abu Dhabi government. The independent commission rejected that explanation.
In its judgment, the commission concluded that it was an explanation that the club had concocted well after the event in an attempt to conceal the realities of the Disguised Funding Scheme.
