Kcee: Mystery Is Losing Its Power in Entertainment
Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has argued that keeping a low profile is no longer as effective for artists seeking relevance in the entertainment industry.
Kcee made the observation during an interview with Selah Meditate, where he discussed the changing dynamics of fame and audience engagement.
According to the singer, the strategy of deliberately staying out of the public eye to build intrigue is gradually losing its impact.
He predicted that the “mysterious” approach could become largely irrelevant within the next five years.
Kcee said he had discussed the issue with some professors in the United States, who, according to him, agreed that the culture of mystery is losing its influence.
He noted that being absent from the public eye once helped celebrities generate interest, particularly around 2021 and 2022.
However, he believes the rapid evolution of technology and artificial intelligence has changed the way audiences connect with entertainers.
“The mysterious factor won’t be relevant in five years,” Kcee said.
He added that artists now need to maintain a visible presence and consistently connect with their audiences to stay relevant.
For Kcee, the shift reflects a broader change in the entertainment business, where direct audience interaction and constant visibility have become increasingly important to an artist’s public profile.
