
The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast at 7 AM on Thursday, June 12, in honour of Democracy Day.
This early morning address will be followed by a special joint session of the National Assembly at noon, marking 26 uninterrupted years of civilian rule a historic milestone for Nigeria
This year’s celebrations will eschew the traditional military parade, focusing instead on a joint sitting themed “Renewing our commitment to national development.” Tinubu is expected to highlight his Renewed Hope Agenda, democratic milestones, and reforms undertaken since his administration began .
Later in the day, a public lecture will take place at 4 PM at the State House Conference Centre with the theme: “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms.” Media coverage will be coordinated by State House correspondents
