JAMB Clarifies O’Level Verification, Says Candidates Need Not Re-upload Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload the results or obtain a verification code under the Board’s new verification process.

JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in a statement on Thursday, following complaints from candidates who had uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, or in previous years under the old process.

Benjamin said the Board had received numerous enquiries from affected candidates seeking clarification on whether they were required to upload their results again or obtain a new verification code.

He explained that all candidates who had previously uploaded their O’Level results remained covered by the existing records on the JAMB platform.

“The Board wishes to clarify that all candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again,” Benjamin said.

He noted that the clarification applied to candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded them after the release of the WAEC results, as well as candidates who had uploaded their results in previous years.

According to him, O’Level results uploaded through the old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on the Board’s platform.
Benjamin said such candidates were therefore not required to take any further action concerning the new verification code.

He explained that the new verification process was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent falsified results from being accepted during the admission process.

“For candidates whose results were uploaded under the previous process, the results already available on the Board’s portal remain valid and will be subjected to the appropriate verification process by the institutions where necessary,” he said.

The JAMB spokesperson advised candidates against panic or unnecessary repeat uploads, stressing that previously uploaded results would remain available for consideration in the admission process, subject to verification by the respective institutions.

The Board consequently assured all affected candidates that their existing O’Level records remained valid and that they were not required to undertake any additional action simply because the results were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.
