Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has emphasized the importance of finishing the season on a strong note following their 3-1 home defeat to Everton, a result that dented the club’s hopes of European qualification.
The match started positively for Marco Silva’s side, with Raul Jimenez opening the scoring in the 20th minute. However, Everton equalised just before halftime and capitalised on the momentum to score two more goals after the break, sealing all three points.
The loss was a setback for Fulham, who are chasing a European spot. Iwobi, speaking via the club’s official website, admitted the defeat was disappointing but urged the team to focus on their remaining two fixtures.
“Of course it was disappointing,” Iwobi said.
“We felt we controlled the first half and then when they scored the equaliser, it probably boosted them for the second half.”
Despite the setback, the Nigerian international insists Fulham are not out of the race yet.
“The season’s not done – let’s see what we can do,” he added, calling for a strong finish.
