The Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, has declared the APC candidate in the Kaduna State gubernatorial election, Uba Sani, winner of the election.
Sani polled 730,002 votes to defat his closest rival, Isah Ashiru Kudan of the PDP, who scored 715,196 votes.
The PDP has kicked against the declaration saying that at the very least, the election should have been declared inconclusive arguing that the number of cancelled votes is far higher than the margin of lead of the APC’s candidate. The opposition party also insisted that results in some local government areas do not tally with the results uploaded on INEC’s iREV portal.
The election was a very tight race between the governing APC party in the State and the main opposition PDP.
