DisCo blames shortfall in national grid allocation, says it is engaging stakeholders to improve supply…
Ikeja Electric Plc has attributed the reduced hours of electricity supply across its network to a decline in the volume of power allocated to it from the national grid.
The electricity distribution company disclosed this in a public notice issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, explaining that the shortfall had affected the amount of electricity available for distribution to customers.
According to the company, the reduction in supply has affected its network, prompting efforts to secure additional power through engagements with relevant stakeholders.
“We wish to inform customers across Ikeja Electric network that the reduced hours of electricity supply is due to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network from the national grid,” the notice stated.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the situation and appealed to affected customers to remain patient as efforts continue to improve supply.
It assured customers that discussions were ongoing with relevant stakeholders to increase the volume of electricity available to its network.
“Please be assured that we are actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply and will continue to distribute the power received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible,” the notice added.
Ikeja Electric also pledged to keep customers updated on developments as the situation evolves, while reiterating its commitment to distributing available electricity as efficiently as possible.
