IBEDC announces new meter stock, warns against unauthorised payments

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has announced a new supply of meters accessible to clients under the Meter Asset Provider Scheme.

This move, outlined in a statement released to press on Tuesday, intends to improve service delivery and address concerns about projected billing.

Acting Managing Director of IBEDC Francis Agoha advised consumers to register for meters using the official portal at msms.ibedc.com.

“This platform has been designed under the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) Scheme to ensure a seamless and secure metering experience for all our customers,” according to the statement.

In light of recent reports of unauthorised individuals collecting cash for meters and services, the company has issued a strong warning against such practices.

Agoha said “To safeguard your transactions, we recommend visiting our official website at msms.ibedc.com for meter registration and payments.”

According to the statement, the business provides a variety of secure payment solutions, including IBEDCpay, USSD, 24-hour Self-Service Kiosks, IRecharge, and Fets Wallet, to allow efficient customer transactions.

Agoha emphasized the need of acquiring legitimate receipts for clients who are compelled to make cash payments because of restricted internet access.

“To avoid any possible fraud, make sure the receipt issued has the customer copy on it,” he said.
