Nigerian industrialist and billionaire’s wife, Shade Okoya, has confidently addressed critics of her age-gap marriage, stating that she has no regrets about marrying an older man.
Now 48, Shade married business magnate Razak Okoya—currently 85—back in 1999 when she was just 21 years old. In a recent interview, she opened up about her marriage, pushing back against assumptions that she may have missed out on life by choosing a significantly older partner.
“I’m very happy in my marriage,” she shared. “My husband has been incredibly generous and supportive—he always stands by me. God destined this union, and when we met, he didn’t waste any time.”
Shade emphasized that despite the age difference, she has never felt deprived of anything: “He is much older than me, yes, but I don’t believe I’ve missed out on anything just because I didn’t marry a younger man.”
