Hakimi Honored by Ballon d’Or Talk After “Magnificent” Season with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has expressed his happiness at being regarded by fans as a serious contender for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The Moroccan international, widely acknowledged as one of the top full-backs in world football, described the recognition as an “honor.”
Hakimi shared his thoughts following PSG’s recent 2-0 victory over Seattle Sounders at the FIFA Club World Cup, speaking to Africa Top Sports.
“If people think I am a candidate for the Ballon d’Or, I am very happy; it’s a pleasure, an honor for me,” he said. “I am in great shape, I feel good. I think I had a magnificent season.”
Hakimi joined PSG from Inter Milan in July 2021 and has since played a key role in the club’s domestic and international campaigns. He is expected to be in the mix for the 2025 Ballon d’Or alongside notable names such as Lamine Yamal, Vitinha, Raphinha, Ousmane Dembélé, Kylian Mbappé, and Mohamed Salah.
