Governor Uzodinma Gifts N10m Each to Six Imo-Born Super Falcons Stars for WAFCON Triumph

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has rewarded six Super Falcons players from the state with ₦10 million each in recognition of their outstanding performances at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The beneficiaries include Chiamaka Nnadozie, Jennifer Echegini, Osinachi Ohale, Oluchi Oluehi, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Michelle Alozie. Assistant coach Ann Chiejine also received ₦10 million from the governor.
Uzodinma presented the cash rewards to the players during a special reception held at the Government House in Owerri.
The Super Falcons were crowned champions of WAFCON 2024 after edging out hosts Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final on Sunday.
In addition to the state-level recognition, the team received national honours from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who awarded each player $100,000, a three-bedroom house, and conferred upon them the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
