Real Madrid have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Juventus.
Entering the Round of 16 encounter as strong favourites, the LaLiga heavyweights struggled to break down a resilient Juventus side in the first half.
The breakthrough finally came in the 54th minute, when Gonzalo Garcia rose to head home a pinpoint cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, giving Madrid the decisive lead.
Under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, Madrid maintained their advantage and sealed a well-earned win. Despite the narrow margin, the result could have been more emphatic if not for an outstanding performance from Juventus goalkeeper Michele di Gregorio.
Real Madrid will now meet the winner of the Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey match in the quarter-finals, with a semi-final spot on the line.
