Frank Onyeka Unsure of Future After Augsburg Loan

Nigeria international midfielder Frank Onyeka is uncertain about where he will be playing next season.
Onyeka spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Bundesliga side Augsburg, having joined from Premier League club Brentford. The loan deal did not include a purchase option, meaning the 27-year-old is expected to return to Brentford this summer.
The Bees, however, are currently without a head coach following Thomas Frank’s departure to take charge of London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Onyeka, who struggled to secure regular playing time at Brentford before his loan move, has indicated that his future will depend on discussions with the club’s incoming manager.
Speaking to Soccernet, the former FC Midtjylland player said: “The aim right now is to go back to Brentford. I don’t know who the new coach is. So I have to speak to him to know what is going on. And then, we can take it from there.”
