A tragic discovery was made in Agyaragu community of Nasarawa State, where five children were found dead inside an abandoned vehicle.
The children, believed to be between the ages of 5 and 10, were reported missing hours before the incident.
According to community sources, the children had been playing in the neighborhood before they entered the unlocked vehicle and were later found lifeless, likely from heat and suffocation.
Investigations by local police are underway to determine if negligence played a role.
Residents are calling on the state government to mandate safety measures around unused vehicles and abandoned buildings.
Nasarawa authorities have pledged support for the families and promised tighter community regulations.
