Femi Odugbemi Joins Emmy Awards Jury for 78th Primetime Edition

Nigerian writer, filmmaker, and television producer Femi Odugbemi has been selected as a member of the jury for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, further strengthening his presence in global film and television recognition circles.
Odugbemi, who has previously served as Head Judge for multiple editions of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), including the 7th through 10th ceremonies, disclosed that he recently joined the international Emmy Awards panel.
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are scheduled to take place on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Describing the appointment, Odugbemi expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of global television storytelling.
“Delighted to have joined this year’s international Emmy Awards competition as a juror. Always inspiring to engage with powerful storytelling on television from across the world. Always an honour to contribute to celebrating the very best of our global creative community,” he said.
Beyond his work in film and television production, Odugbemi is also known for his contributions to the documentary space. He co-founded the i-Represent International Documentary Film Festival (iREP) in 2010 alongside Jahman Anikulapo and Makin Soyinka.
His latest appointment adds to a growing list of international recognitions for the Nigerian filmmaker, reinforcing his role as a key voice in global audiovisual storytelling.
