Etinosa Idemudia Slams Celebrities for Posting Unanswered DMs After Death

Actress Etinosa Idemudia has criticised the growing trend of celebrities sharing private messages and emotional tributes after a colleague’s death, describing the practice as hypocritical.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, the actress said she does not want anyone posting her direct messages online after her death, especially messages that were never replied to while she was alive.

According to her, many people ignore collaboration requests and personal messages from colleagues, only to later share screenshots and public tributes once the person dies.

“All those people that post people’s DM when they are dead, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said during the conversation.

Idemudia also took aim at movie producers and colleagues who refuse to work with actors during their lifetime but later claim they had planned future projects together.

She argued that such gestures often appear performative rather than genuine.

“DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.

Her comments come amid widespread online mourning following reports surrounding actor Alex Ekubo, with several celebrities sharing screenshots of their last conversations with him on social media.

The remarks have since sparked debate online, with many social media users agreeing that some public tributes are driven more by attention-seeking than sincere grief.
