Eno Urges APC Members in Akwa Ibom to Revalidate Membership at Ward Level

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has directed all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to return to their respective wards for a comprehensive membership revalidation exercise.

Speaking during his maiden familiarisation visit to the APC state secretariat in Uyo on Friday, Eno announced that the revalidation exercise will begin on August 4, 2025 and run for about a month to ensure every interested person has an opportunity to register.

The governor explained that registers would be distributed to all wards through the ward chairmen, stressing that the process was crucial to determine the party’s true membership strength.

“Membership registration is very essential to ascertain the actual members of our party,” Eno said, adding that the exercise would be followed by a digital capturing process by the APC national secretariat.

Eno urged all members, regardless of status, to participate, noting that the revalidation would form the basis for future benefits, including a planned Federal Government empowerment initiative targeted at one beneficiary per ward.

The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, declaring that the President “means well for the country” and deserved full support. He also called on members to back Senate President Godswill Akpabio and all APC candidates in their 2027 re-election bids.

“Today, we have come as part of our familiarisation with the party office. We started with the party structure, met with stakeholders, and are now here to pay respect to the party because the party is supreme,” Eno stated.

During the visit, the governor inaugurated a 10-member committee tasked with securing land, raising funds, and delivering a befitting state secretariat for the APC in Akwa Ibom.

The committee members include Sir Monday Uko (Chairman), Obongemem Ekpo, Obong Ekere, Senator Ita Enang, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, and Ambassador Asam Asam.

In his remarks, APC State Chairman, Obong Ntukekpo, praised Eno’s leadership style, describing it as “a testimony of grace, compassion, and inclusivity.”
