EFCC Calls on Crypto Bridge Exchange Victims to Aid Ongoing Fraud Probe

The anti-graft agency urges Nigerians defrauded by the platform to report in Lagos and Ibadan as prosecutions continue.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on Nigerians defrauded by the cryptocurrency platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to come forward and support its ongoing investigation.

In a statement issued on Friday by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the commission directed victims to report at its Zonal Directorates in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Lagos State.

The EFCC disclosed that it is currently prosecuting three individuals—Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka—for their alleged roles in the fraudulent scheme.

According to investigators, CBEX lured unsuspecting investors with promises of unrealistic returns, leaving many Nigerians with significant financial losses.

“The EFCC is inviting victims who invested their funds through individuals linked to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, to report to our Ibadan Zonal Directorate and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2,” the statement read.

The commission emphasized that testimonies from affected investors are crucial to strengthening the ongoing prosecution and ensuring justice for victims of the scam.
