David Seaman Slams Jamie Carragher’s Comments on Declan Rice’s Future at Arsenal

David Seaman, former Arsenal goalkeeper, has strongly dismissed Jamie Carragher’s recent comments about Declan Rice potentially leaving Arsenal.

Carragher, following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend, suggested that Rice might start considering his future at the club if Arsenal fails to win a trophy next season.

On the Seaman Says podcast, Seaman responded, “Wow. We haven’t even finished this season, and he’s talking about Arsenal not winning anything next season… and that someone like Declan Rice might leave.”

He continued, “I can’t believe Carragher said that because I’m excited about next season with Arsenal. They’re getting better and better and are consistently competing.”

Seaman added, “We ended up playing PSG, who were a fantastic team, so Declan will stay. There’s no issue, not at all.”

Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United in 2023 after the Gunners beat Manchester City to secure his signature. The England international has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates.
