Daddy Freeze Criticizes 2Baba’s Public Apology, Alleges Singer Is Under External Control

Broadcaster says 2Baba’s recent behavior is disappointing, urges unnamed partner to "release him" from influence.

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, widely known as Daddy Freeze, has expressed concern over the state of legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba (formerly known as 2Face Idibia), following the artiste’s recent public apology.

2Baba had apologized over his controversial statement suggesting that men are not naturally wired to be sexually committed to one woman. While the apology generated mixed reactions, Daddy Freeze believes it was overly dramatic and unnecessary.

Reacting in a video posted to his TikTok page, Daddy Freeze criticized the singer’s tone and manner of apology, saying a simple, straightforward line would have sufficed.

“You said something that didn’t make sense—fine. Apologize with one line. Which one is ‘I fk up, I fk up’? You’re not a child, 2Baba,” the broadcaster said.

He further suggested that the veteran musician’s recent actions point to possible external influence.

“We don’t like this version of 2Face we are seeing,” Daddy Freeze added. “It seems like someone is controlling him. It’s no longer the 2Baba we knew.”

Referring to an unnamed individual he sarcastically called “Jebeto,” Daddy Freeze pleaded, “Please, help us leave Pinopi o!”

He also revealed that multiple attempts had been made to reach out to 2Baba privately, including arranging meetings, all of which the singer reportedly declined.

“I can’t sit back and watch someone I know and love continue to depreciate,” he said.

Daddy Freeze’s comments follow similar reactions from other media personalities, such as Do2dtun, who also voiced disappointment over the artist’s recent conduct.

As of now, 2Baba has not responded publicly to the remarks.
