Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hailed the Inter Milan vs. Barcelona clash as the best semi-final encounter in UEFA Champions League history. Inter Milan eliminated Barcelona in a dramatic second-leg tie on Tuesday night, with the match ending 4-3 in favor of the Serie A side at San Siro.

Inter had taken a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime, thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu. However, Barcelona mounted a comeback with Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo scoring to level the match, before Raphinha gave the visitors a 3-2 advantage. Francesco Acerbi responded for Inter, bringing the score to 3-3 at the end of normal time.

In the first half of extra time, Davide Frattesi scored the decisive goal, securing Inter’s place in the final. Carragher, reflecting on the thrilling encounter, stated, “When you look back at history, the Champions League semi-final is some of the most entertaining and high quality of game that you will ever see in football, and this is right up there and not right up there, this is arguably one of the best, if not the best in the Champions League era,” he told local newsmen.
