BBNaija S9 Reunion: DJ Flow Opens Up About Friendship Breakup with Ruthie

BBNaija No Loose Guard housemate DJ Flow has broken her silence on the end of her decade-long friendship with fellow contestant Ruthie, revealing the emotional and personal reasons behind their split.
During the highly anticipated BBNaija No Loose Guard reunion, which began airing on June 23, 2025, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu pressed DJ Flow on the fallout that surprised fans of the show.
In a heartfelt response, DJ Flow explained that her decision to distance herself from Ruthie wasn’t sudden. According to her, they had multiple conversations prior to joining the show where she made it clear that she does not engage in online or public confrontations—even if the drama involves her directly.
“I told her from the start, I’m not the type to clap back or get involved in fights,” DJ Flow shared. “Even if they’re dragging me on social media, I won’t respond. So why would I fight someone else’s battles?”
The turning point, she revealed, came when Ruthie participated in an interview and made comments about her that left her deeply hurt. That public moment, DJ Flow said, made her realize that their friendship had reached its end.
“I try not to live with regrets,” she said. “I’ll always cherish what we had over those 10 years. But I also believe that people come into our lives for different seasons—and not everyone is meant to do life with you forever.”
Reflecting on the experience, DJ Flow acknowledged that while BBNaija was supposed to strengthen their bond, it instead exposed cracks that had been quietly growing. She emphasized that, although she still has love for Ruthie and wishes her well, their values and energy no longer align.
“The interview made it clear for me,” she said. “I realized that I may care about this person, but we’ve reached a place where our paths no longer serve each other. And that’s okay. Protecting my peace means moving on.”
