BBNaija: Kola Omotoso’s Team Threatens Legal Action Over Online Smear Campaign

His handlers warn critics against “dangerous and unfounded labels,” insisting the housemate has remained respectful throughout the show.

The management team of Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Kola Omotoso has threatened legal action against online critics, describing a wave of negative commentary as a coordinated smear campaign.

Kola came under fire after a conversation with fellow housemate Dede on Friday night was clipped and shared on social media. In the exchange, Dede urged him to “stop talking about other people” and instead discuss more personal topics. Kola agreed, suggesting they focus on “what we have going on instead.”

The clip, coupled with a later Truth or Dare game that saw the two share a kiss, triggered a flurry of online criticism, with some viewers accusing Kola of crossing boundaries.

In a statement posted on his X (Twitter) account, Kola’s team condemned the accusations, warning that terms such as “rapist,” “predator,” and “abuser” were “dangerous and unfounded labels” that could have long-lasting consequences for his life and career.

“Kola has consistently carried himself in the Big Brother Naija house with dignity, respect, and kindness towards everyone, especially the women,” the statement read. “It is deeply disheartening to see a simple, honest conversation twisted out of context to paint him as something he is not.”

The team stressed that Kola has shown restraint throughout the season, maintaining self-control even during late-night parties and never crossing boundaries set by other contestants.

They further warned that any additional defamatory remarks would be met with immediate legal action, describing the smear campaign as malicious and harmful.

With the show offering a record-breaking ₦150 million grand prize, tensions among housemates, and fan debates online, continue to intensify.
